Duchy of Vallgard (heir apparent)
The Ghost Guard (lord commander)

Kornelya "Nell" Wagnar is the only child of Soren Wagnar, younger brother of Ulric Wagnar, the current Duke of Vallgard and High Lord of the Ghostlands. In her flowering years, Nell refused to entertain suitors, and instead insisted on joining the Ghost Guard, following after father. Her uncle lost his only son in Soval's Rebellion in 1195 GC, which means, given that her father has been missing in action for years and is now presumed dead, that Nell is now the heir apparent to the duchy. Despite this, she remains steadfast in her devotion to the Ghost Guard, and was elected to lead that organization in 1197 GC as Lord Commander.

By all accounts, Nell is a peerless ranger and defender of the Silverwood, and is much loved and respected by her fellows in the Ghost Guard, and by the small folk of the Ghostlands, who view her as a sort of hero. She is not popular amongst the nobility of the realm, largely due to the reputation of her father as a simple and unfinished man (not undeservedly), and by her relatively low birth (Reine d'Lechy being of least noble stock, and Brinnish to boot), but more than anything by her general disdain for the manner and traditions of nobility. She has not been seen in a skirt since before her flowering, and has never truly entertained a suitor; whereas she has been a student of archery, swordplay, and woodsmanship since she was first afoot.

As is often attributed to those of House Wagnar, rarely more so than to her father Soren, Nell is often accused--in whispers--of bearing the Old Blood (or what the elves name The Affinity), an ancient magical ability (or some might say curse) giving her the ability to speak with animals, or perhaps even take their shape. These scurrilous rumors are of course false, as those who have traveled with her can attest that she has yet to transform into a bear, nor is she aided by a honor guard of squirrels, monkeys, and other forest kin. She does however have a reputation for being able to predict weather, hunting patterns, and other natural phenomenon with astounding precision, but such things are well within the ken of an experienced woodsman.
